Katherin is an experienced commercial leader in the energy transition, currently based in Perth Australia. With a commercial and legal background, Katherin has worked on resource and energy projects both in Australia and internationally. She has led negotiations for complex gas projects, requiring strong focus on integration, value and constructive stakeholder relationships. Katherin has been an independent member of the steering committee for the Net Zero Australia Project from its inception in 2020. The Net Zero Australia project is a ground breaking study illustrating net zero pathways within the boundaries of the Australian debate, at a level of downscaling not previously seen. The insights from the Net Zero Australia study, coupled with Katherin’s extensive upstream gas experience, give her a unique perspective into the challenges of the energy transition. Katherin is currently working as a consultant and is on the board of the Curtin Institute of Energy Transition, Australia. She is speaking at the IGRC conference in an independent capacity.
Dr. Derek Wissmiller is the Director of Strategic Analytics at GTI Energy, a not-for-profit energy research and technology development organization. In this role, he leads strategic management activities aimed at aligning GTI Energy’s business portfolio towards durable value creation and lasting impact. Derek has a diverse breadth of experience in building organizational capabilities, cultivating partnerships, leading teams, managing programs, and advancing energy technology solutions to market.
Mr. Sandeep Alavandi is a Sr. Program Manager at GTI Energy. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. He has worked in the power generation and industrial sector with a focus on low-emissions combustion, alternative fuels, energy efficiency and improved plant reliability. He has experience in the design, development, installation and commissioning of multiple advanced technologies across different industrial sectors. He is actively engaged across the value chain with different OEM’s, industrial end-users and customers, Investor Owned Utilities (IOU’s) and different collaboratives to evaluate and implement decarbonization and low-emissions pathways and technologies.
Richard Markeson is an experienced Oil and Gas professional with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. He is currently based on the west coast of Norway and leads the New Value Chain (NVC) R&D program for Gassco, the Norwegian state-owned gas transport operator and architect on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. With a background in physics, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role in supporting the development and qualification of technology for the Hydrogen and CCS value chains.
Throughout his career, Richard has held a variety of roles in different areas of the business, from engineering to supply chain management and now R&D. He draws on this broad range of experience to drive innovation and progress in the field of natural gas and energy transition. Richard is also an active board member of several research projects, including the two major Hydrogen research centres in Norway, HyValue and Hydrogeni.
At the IGRC 2024 conference, Richard will be moderating the NetZero session, where he will share his insights and expertise on the role of natural gas in the energy transition. With his deep understanding of the industry and his commitment to innovation and progress, Richard is well-positioned to lead this important discussion and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the future of natural gas and its role in achieving a net-zero future.
Dick Brown is the President and CEO of Kathairos Solutions, and a renowned leader in North America's liquefied natural gas industry.
In 2001, Dick founded Ferus, an energy services company specializing in supplying and delivering cryogenic products for well stimulation. Following this, he founded Eagle LNG Partners, successfully positioning it as a global leader in natural gas fueling, and further establishing himself as a clean tech innovator in a highly conventional field.
Dick holds an engineering degree from the University of Alberta and brings over 30 years of senior energy industry leadership and expertise to his work.
Through Kathairos, Dick champions solutions that support today's oil and gas producers in meeting methane targets and regulatory timelines. Kathairos was conceived with a vision to do this efficiently and affordably through its proprietary technology using liquid nitrogen, and it remains committed to making well site methane venting a thing of the past.
Ming holds a Ph.D and M.S. of environmental science from Ocean University of China. Now he serves as the deputy director of the institute of environmental technology, CNPC RISE, and the deputy director of State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Pollution Control. He also serves as the general secretary of China Oil and Gas Methane Alliance, and the secretary of the technical committee for CNPC Carbon Neutrality Center. The research interests of Ming cover the detection and quantification of methane emission through the oil and gas value chain, and environmental impact assessment of natural gas hydrate exploitation. He had promoted the application of a series of methane emission measurement technologies in the Chinese oil and gas industry, and developed a series of methane emission measurement platform including component-level leak detection and quantification, and vehicle-based site emission quantification. covering over 121 oil and gas processing plants, and about 1300 oil and gas production wellheads. Ming also Developed two types of methane abatement technology for produced water and flaring gas recovery, and reached a reduction rate over 90%. He has led the technical route of national methane monitoring trial for the oil and gas industry, and evaluate the marginal abatement cost of various technologies. He was the PI for over 10 projects including “Emission evaluation and control measures of VOCs from storage tanks in oil storage facilities” from Ministry of Ecological and Environment, PRC, and participated in over 12 projects such as the National Oil and Gas Key Program “Measurements and recovery of fugitive and venting gas during unconventional oil and gas Exploration”. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, and awarded with 6 patents.
Cristina Lopez is a Methane emissions and renewable gases process research engineer in RICE (R&D center of GRTgaz, which is the main TSO in France). Her main activities include finding solutions to reduce GHG gases, implying lab tests and campaigns in the field. She has recently being recognized as a specialist inside of the group.
She has lead European projects (GERG) involving top down and bottom up technologies, and she has delivered workshops during international conferences (Methane Mitigation Summit Europe, Prospero Events, CH4 connections).
Another of her research fields are CCUS processes to capture CO2 emissions, with a focus on postcombustion solutions.
She is an energy engineer by the Technical University of Madrid, and she holds a Master research degree by Mines Paristech.
Bronwyn is an internationally recognised business developer who converts partnerships into market leading energy transition opportunities. With over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, she has commercialised numerous innovative industry projects in Australia and within the Asian region.
She was recently a finalist in the 2022 Global Gas Awards for her work on renewable energy to renewable gas. Bronwyn has worked to create new and innovative businesses in Australia and the Asian region. She recently originated several green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Australia and has been responsible for forming consortiums involving leading Australian businesses and international energy players. She currently works as a business development executive at a leading Australian energy retailer.
Passionate about the energy transition and access to opportunities for all communities, Bronwyn is an awarded conference speaker on topics relating to energy transition within the Asian region. She regularly briefs government departments and international delegations visiting Australia to upskill on energy transition. Bronwyn has been appointed to several industry consultation committees, acts as a contributor at the Grattan Institute and a Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Asialink Foundation focusing on energy transition and the green economy.
Shinya Akimoto works for Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. in the energy technology laboratories with the bio & chemicals team from 2022 until present. He is the Chief Researcher working on research concerning methane fermentation, biomethanation and bioplastics conversion for biogas. He has degrees in 2010 from Tokyo University (for B. Sc.) and 2012 from Tokyo University (for M. Sc.). He worked for Oji Holdings Corporation from 2012 to 2022. His field of specialty is methane fermentation with sewage sludge.
I am PhD Engineer in Fluid Mechanics, I have been working for fourteen years in the Natural Gas Liquefaction field at Engie group both in Research and Development division and new business division; I have been in charge of the technical development of a new compact and flexible biomethane storage solution named “LiLiBox” between 2016 and 2019 ; I have been working since 2019 as renewable gases liquefaction expert at Engie-Lab Research and development Center named CRIGEN
Alice has a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science (ECPM) of Strasburg, France. She has been working in the Natural Gas Industry for the past 15 years, in the R&D&I Department of ENGIE, then in GRTgaz, the main French Transmission System Operator. Within RICE, the Research & Innovation Center for Energy of GRTgaz, Alice has several R&D responsibilities, to enable, with the rest of her 150 colleagues, the transformation of energy infrastructures towards a safer and more efficient carbon-neutral future. As a Gas Quality expert, Alice works on solving problematics coming from different gas matrices (Natural gas, Biomethane, Syn-methane, H2NG, 100%H2 & 100%CO2) and is actively participating in different International and European standardization Working Groups (e.g. CEN/TC 234, CEN/TC 408, ISO/TC 193). Alice is also R&D project manager in charge of all R&D activities in the realm of Gas Usages & New Gas production. Concerning Gas Usages, the activities entail everything dealing with the decarbonization of GRTgaz’ Industrial clients such as the impacts of new gases & hydrogen on processes, energy efficiency, recovery of waste heat, innovative new gas technologies, CCUS. New Gas production covers the production of synmethane through Pyrogasification & Hydrothermal Gasification.
Huda Al Balushi is a highly experienced professional with a career spanning over 12 years at Oman LNG L.L.C. She has built a reputation for her exceptional expertise in web analytics, demand management, and change management, and currently serves as the Lead for Information Management.
Huda holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Sunderland College and is currently pursuing the PGP-DSBA program from The University of Texas at Austin. She also has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Sur College of Applied Science.

Michel Hardy works in the field of R&D for gas infrastructure over 20 years.
He was involved in many international projects, such as detection technics for buried assets, new laying technics.
He is now head of innovation and strategic department within RICE, the R&D center for gas infrastructure in France, and Chairman of the Program Committee Distribution and utilization within GERG, the Gas European Research Group .
He is responsible for the 5 R&D programs of the French TSO , one in particular is dedicated to optimizing existing assets.
Dirk Smith is President of Ionix Gas Technologies. Ionix Gas Technologies specializes solely in static mitigation systems for natural gas production and gathering and local gas distribution systems. Mr. Smith graduated from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania and holds 3 US patents on static elimination technology. He has written numerous articles about static electricity and pinhole leaks in gas pipelines which have been published in Pipeline and Gas Journal and the Proceedings of the Plastic Pipe Symposium.
Fares Ben Rayana is a gas meter expert and a project manager of the gas meter R&D activities within GRTGAZ. He has a PhD and postdoc in fluid mechanics of the combustible fluids and experience with experimental and numerical studies. He is the one of the French experts in the CEN/TC237 – WG10. He is also the president of the French mirror group of the ISO/TC 193 “gas quality”.
Ali Al Jaafari got BSc degree from university of Leeds/ UK and MSc degree from university of Manchester. He has +15 yrs. extensive experience at Oil/Gas business industry from upstream to downstream. He worked locally and internationally with a diverse environment and multi nationalities. He worked at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) / UAE, and Occidental as Asset Integrity Lead Engineer before Joined Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (OLNG) as Lead, Asset Quality and Assurance Engineer. He is Quality focal point at OLNG. He is certified professional manager. He is accredited in ISOs certifications 9001 & 14001 and 55001.
Hamza Filali is in charge of the Liquefaction Laboratory at ENGIE Research & Innovation, focused on mastering cryogenic processes to develop innovative technological solutions for security of supply and decarbonization of uses. He has been working on liquid behaviour modeling and cryogenic processes development for internal and external clients as well as industrial partners at ENGIE. Hamza is now in charge of a team of engineers and PhD holders working on disruptive technologies related to liquid green gases. Hamza holds a master’s degree from IFP School.
Majid AL Farsi, a dedicated IT professional with 15 years of experience in the field. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST).
In my current role as the Lead Strategy Architect within the IT department at Oman LNG, I specialize in developing and implementing strategic solutions that drive operational excellence and enhance organizational performance. Over the years, I've had the privilege of delivering notable projects, including the successful Integrated Operational WiFi and the Smart Procedure system, as well as the implementation of the Virtual Connected Worker initiative.
These projects have not only enhanced operational efficiency but have also significantly contributed to reducing costs and improving overall productivity within our organization. My commitment to staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry best practices ensures that I provide cutting-edge solutions to our company.
Alessandra Reilly is the Manager of External Relations for the Open Hydrogen Initiative and Partnerships Development Specialist with GTI Energy. In this role, Alessandra fosters strategic engagements critical to advancing initiatives across the hydrogen sector. Alessandra manages relationships with SMEs and leaders across a wide array of Fortune 500 energy firms, academia, government, and eNGOs, facilitating collaboration to drive impactful research. Alessandra has an educational background in Environmental Science from the University of Maine, specializing in Natural Resource Management, Policy, and Sustainability, contributing a robust understanding of the intersection between resource stewardship and energy innovation.
A. Can Camlioglu is an R&D Engineer at the Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ).
He is responsible for researching new technologies, exploring business opportunities, conducting technical and cost analyses, and managing projects. Currently, he is actively involved in hydrogen projects funded by the European Union. Additionally, he conducts research on the integration of machine learning and large language models into the energy sector.
In 2021, Can was awarded one of the most prestigious scholarships of the Republic of Türkiye and pursued a master's degree in Program and Project Management at the University of Warwick. His master's thesis focused on the development of Turkey's hydrogen roadmap. After completing his master's degree, he joined BOTAŞ in 2022.
Before assuming this role, Can worked as a marine engineer in open seas for five years. Throughout this period, he gained experience in various machinery systems.
Patrick Milin holds an engineering degree on energy, he joined ENGIE LAB CRIGEN as R&D engineer in charge of the development and implementation of innovative micro-CHP appliances on ENGIE’s markets and then as project manager since 2015, in charge of upholding the natural gas products development in link with mainstream applications (cooking, heating, DHW). This project deals with development of boilers, micro-CHP from concepts to design, modelling, lab and field trials up to commercialization. Special attention has been given recently in new gases and its impact on appliances (biomethane and siloxanes, combustion control and hydrogen concentration in the GERG CCCB project, for example) and implementation in Energy Communities at higher scale.

Florent Brissaud specializes in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Functional Safety for technological systems. His expertise also encompasses Asset Management, Risk Analysis, and Data Science. With a PhD and an engineering background, he leverages the latest technical and scientific advancements to advance industrial objectives.
With over 15 years of experience in the energy, industry, and transportation sectors, including five years as a freelance consultant, Florent Brissaud has a proven track record. Since 2018, he has held the position of Expert and Senior Research Engineer at the Research & Innovation Center for Energy (RICE) within GRTgaz. GRTgaz is the owner and operator of Europe's longest high-pressure gas transmission network. In this role, he oversees asset management activities aimed at supporting the energy transition. His responsibilities encompass safety and reliability, cost/performance modeling and optimization, and the development of predictive maintenance.
Furthermore, Florent Brissaud leads the research and development efforts for the "Jupiter 1000" industrial demonstrator of Power-to-Gas. This innovative project involves the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis utilizing various technologies and the generation of synthetic natural gas through an innovative methanation process that also includes the capture of CO2 from a nearby industrial site.
Samantha is a chartered engineer with over three decades of energy and natural resource development. She has two degrees, Mathematics and Natural Resource Engineering. She has worked with Fortune-500 firms across North American, Europe, MENA, Southeast Asia and Australia.
Samantha specialises in communication and commercialisation within innovation and deep technology in developed, developing and emerging energy markets.
Guilhem Caumette is a research engineer at TEREGA, a french Transmission Systems and Storages Operator. His field of research includes the integration of new gases into Terega’s infrastructures, including biomethane, hydrogen or synthetic methane. He leads more than 20 R&D projects and partnerships with universities or research groups in France and Europe. Guilhem is specialized in analytical chemistry and geochemistry. His actual research goals are to better understand the chemical composition of the new gases injected in the grids, such as biomethane, hydrogen or synthetic methane. And therefore to anticipate and simulate the interactions of these new energy sources with the underground gas storages, in terms of chemical, biological, and geological interactions. For this IGRC 2024 conference, he will be presenting the results of an experimental multidisciplinary study on hydrogen storage in deep aquifer UGS.
David is a Senior Energy Transition Consultant at Guidehouse with over 3 years of professional experience and 2 years of technical research experience in the clean energy space. He advises clients on a range of topics including hydrogen, clean transportation, technology integration, energy reliability, and decarbonization. David has engaged in multiple energy system modeling projects across Canada and Europe, advised go-to-market strategy for utilities and integrated energy companies, and supported large funding applications to the US DOE hydrogen hubs. Currently, he strives to develop and implement actionable strategies to transform energy systems with a focus on decarbonization through clean fuel adoption. He holds a bachelor of science, with Honors in Translational Molecular Medicine and a research focus in Electrochemical Engineering and electrolysis.
Jnana Bairy is a Senior Engineer Emissions Data in the Environmental group supporting US Gas Transmission Operations at Enbridge. She has ten years of experience in air permitting, environmental data collection, environmental air emissions monitoring and compliance reporting, and operations data analysis. Jnana received her MS in Environmental Engineering from the Biological & Agricultural Engineering Department at Texas A&M University in 2013, where her passion for environment data science and analytics initiated. She manages projects on environmental data systems and provides business expertise and support to initiatives across the enterprise. She is a member of the Pipeline Research Council International and has contributed to gas transmission industry research projects as an Environment SME.
Marco Fabbro got graduated in Material Engineering at University of Padua (Italy) in 2007 and has worked with Snam since December 2007. His first job was as a technician in the material testing lab, where he was involved in welds and coatings quality testing and in pipelines failure analysis. He got the qualification of International Welding Engineer in 2010. In 2010 he moved to maintenance staff unit, where he was involved in the generation of assets maintenance planning, in the analysis of maintenance performance and audit on field. From 2014 to 2018 he was in charge of two maintenance units located in southern Italy.
He has been in charge of geohazard management department since March 2018, where a large part of his activity is about the analysis of interactions between soil movements and pipelines, cooperating with a team of geologists and strain gauge technicians; that is performed gathering data from the grid, evaluating the situations of hydrogeological instability which have possibly affected the pipelines and deciding the most suitable mitigative actions to decrease the hazard for the network.
He is also responsible for the update of technical standards relating to strain gauges and relative data loggers and the maintenance engineering of those equipments. Finally he is involved in the scouting of technologies for structural monitoring of the pipelines and geotechnical monitoring of slopes, which could experimentally be tested in specific sites along the grid. One project he has worked on since 2018 is the use of Insar data to detect unknown creeping soil movements close to the gas grid. Specific issues he faced are the design of internal guidelines for the use of data and the development of a customized informatic platform to manage those data.
Dalmo S. Amorim Jr. is a seasoned expert in the field of Petroleum Engineering with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Currently pursuing a PhD in Energy at IEE-USP, Brazil, he has already earned significant educational accolades including a Master's degree in Mineral Sciences from EP-USP. Dalmo's professional journey spans over four decades, with roles at National Oilwell Varco and affiliates, where he excelled as a Petroleum Engineer, becoming a Global Training Instructor and contributing to drilling engineering in various international capacities. His expertise lies in drilling economics and training development. Dalmo is also a published author, with contributions in leading journals and conferences. With an extensive background, Dalmo brings a deep understanding of drilling operations and a commitment to sharing his insights.
Martijn van Essen is a senior combustion engineer and has 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Martijn published more than 40 papers in scientific journals regarding gas quality measurements, combustion behaviour of gaseous fuels and gas interchangeability. As a PhD student, at the University of Groningen, Martijn studied the effects of two NOx control strategies, flue-gas recirculation (FGR) and burner stabilization, on NO formation under fuel-rich (oxygen deficient) conditions.
After his PhD Martijn worked as a researcher at the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) in the field of solar energy storage in the built environment. In 2010 Martijn joined DNV as a senior combustion engineer and project manager. Projects Martijn is involved in include assessment of the introduction of new gases, such as hydrogen, biogas and ammonia, on the performance of both domestic and industrial end-user equipment and the development of a methodology for characterizing knock resistance of gaseous fuels in engines.
Paul Glanville, PE is based in Chicago, USA and is a Sr. R&D Director in GTI Energy’s Low Carbon Energy Solutions group, leading the cross-cutting Heat & Power group that collaborates with industry and academia, resulting in several products, patents, and publications. He has prior experience in air quality management and holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis and the University of Washington, specializing in combustion science. He is active in ASME, ASHRAE, and ANSI/CSA, is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois.
Elbert Huijzer is senior grid strategist in an innovation department of the Dutch energy grid operator Alliander. His focus is on the phasing out of natural gas and the use of sustainable alternatives. Integration of the gas grid with the electricity grid and the heat grid is becoming increasingly important.
Based upon 30 years of research, development and consultancy in the natural gas sector, the emphasis in his work nowadays is on the role that hydrogen can play in the energy sector. He is advisor on the hydrogen strategy of the company and responsible for the hydrogen pilot projects of The Green Village (test grid), SinneWetterstof (P2G) and Lochem. He is member of both the Dutch and German gas associations (KVGN and DVGW).
Yan Zhao is a Principal Engineer at GTI Energy, where he leads projects in hydrogen research, decarbonization efforts and air pollution control. In the pat 10+ years, Yan works closely with academia, industrial partners and policymakers on clean energy technology development across the world. Yan’s professional experience covers multiple energy consumption sectors including residential buildings, commercial applications, transportation, and power generation. His recent research work has been focusing on hydrogen blending into combustion/fuel cell applications and natural gas infrastructures and facilitating disadvantaged neighborhoods on energy efficiency and indoor air quality improvement. Yan received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Irvine, his Master’s degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Bachelor’s degree from Hebei University of Technology.
Jayme Abreu is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Federal University of Viçosa. He currently works as an engineer at Comgás, a prominent natural gas distribution company. In his role, Jayme specializes in the field of data governance, system enhancements, technological projects, and strategic initiatives for damage prevention. Kinshiro Waki is part of the Residential Energy System Development Department Micro-CHP Quality Control Team for Osaka Gas co., ltd. He has been on a staff since 2022. He has an education in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Kagawa National College of Technology.
Abdullah Al Oraifi is a senior process engineer with 10 years of experience in operations and engineering at Saudi Aramco Company, one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. He holds a bachelor degree as well as a master degree in chemical engineering, which have equipped him with a strong foundation in this field.
Throughout his career, Abdullah has gained valuable expertise in gas operations, having worked in various operations areas such as Gas Treating, NGL Recovery, Sulfur Operation, Utilities & Cogeneration. His involvement in these diverse fields has allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of plant operation.
Abdullah’s contribution extends beyond day-today operations. He has undertaken significant activities including the simulation of plant operations via models such as the hydrocarbon management model and the SLOpE model.
Dr. Bailey Fosdick is a data scientist at GTI Energy, where she uses statistics and data science to address applied problems in the energy domain. She specializes in working with subject matter experts and communicating technical concepts in a relatable way. She has authored or co-authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications on statistical methods for analyzing complex data and appropriately quantifying uncertainty in model estimates. A major focus of her current work is improving the understanding of methane emissions from oil and gas operations, including creating guidance for sample planning, data analysis, and uncertainty quantification to estimate methane emissions. She holds a PhD in statistics from the University of Washington.
Jarrod Bullen is a Principal Engineer with GTI Energy. He has been working in the industry for eight years, starting his career in research related to distribution engineering such as emergency tools, infrastructure locating, and fusion procedures. His current role is focused on emissions from a detection, quantification, and mitigation perspective. He has participated in numerous field campaigns to categorize and measure methane emissions from distribution and industrial assets, evaluating advanced detection and quantification technologies for manufacturers, sponsors, and the industry at-large. He is also now serving as the GTI Energy lead for the distribution segment of Veritas, a methane emission measurement and verification initiative. Jarrod holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Mississippi.
Frank Graf graduated in 2001 from the Technical University of Karlsruhe in Process Engineering and received his PhD from the Technical University of Karlsruhe in 2007. Since 2005 he is employed at DVGW-EBI. 2005 - 2010 he headed the department Gas Technology Consulting. Since 2010 he is responsible for the division Gas Technology. Besides, he is head of the group “Physical-chemical fuel processing technologies” at Engler-Bunte-Institute, KIT. His current R&D work at KIT and DVGW focus on the production and utilization of gases from renewable sources. Important research activities in this field are biogas production and upgrading as well as PtG technologies. Furthermore, he is expert for gas transport and distribution topics like gas quality aspects, injection of renewable gases, odorisation. He is member of various national and international research and standardization committees.
Xu Wenjia, a Senior Engineer, graduated from Peking University with a major in Environmental Science. She currently works at the CNPC Research Institute of Safety & Environment Technology in Beijing, China. In 2022, she was selected as a CNPC Young Science and Technology Talent. Since 2010, she has been engaged in scientific research on greenhouse gas emission accounting, carbon footprint, carbon assets, low-carbon technology assessment, and methane monitoring etc. She has participated in China's national key basic research development programs (973 program), national oil and gas major projects, and major consulting projects of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. She also took part in international cooperation projects between China and the United States as well as China and Russia. Additionally, she has worked on PetroChina's significant low-carbon scientific and technological projects along with various regional company's scientific research projects. She has presided over six scientific research projects for group companies and four projects for regional companies while participating in more than forty national major scientific and technological special projects as well as group company's scientific research and technological research projects; she has won eight provincial and ministerial awards, authorized three Chinese invention patents along with two software copyrights, and published nineteen academic papers. The GHG accounting methodology for the petroleum industry that she has been involved in has won several local awards.

Initially, Mechanical engineer from the Faculty of Engineering of Porto, David DA SILVA got his PhD in 2011, at Mines Paris – PSL school, on the subject “Analytical study of household electricity demand flexibility”. During its PhD, he worked on several projects related to demand response. He then moved to the Scientific and technical Center for buildings, where he worked on National French building regulations and building energy simulation, with a specific highlight on building simulation uncertainty analysis.
In 2020, he joined the CRIGEN R&I LAB of ENGIE. His main work fields are study of innovations in building HVAC systems and building energy outlook pathways. In the same year, he also became Associate Professor at Gustave Eiffel university, where he is head of the Licensing for building Optimization.
Aqeel has over 40 years of professional engineering experience, primarily in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and low carbon technologies including: boilers and steam systems, combustion, industrial process heating, energy analysis of industrial and institutional facilities, combined heat and power (CHP), carbon capture, Hydrogen, natural gas heat pumps (GHP), demand side management (DSM), solar energy and marginal GHG emissions analysis of electricity generation. Over the years, he has applied his knowledge and expertise of industrial manufacturing processes, thermal energy engineering, combustion, and heat transfer to develop low carbon solutions that help customers to improve energy efficiencies and reduce GHG emissions.
Behnam is an engineer with over 25 years of experience in the field of gas heat pump technology, heat recovery, combined heat and power (CHP), steam generation, heating and cooling, building automation system (BAS), industrial power piping, and process instrumentation and control. He has applied his knowledge to enhance system operation and develop solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce GHG emissions in commercial, health care, and industrial sectors.
Behnam has worked with several engineering and design-build firms including Honeywell Canada, WSP, and CEM Engineering. His work with Enbridge Gas since 2017 has been focused on demand side management (DSM) program design and technology development. He provides technical support through evaluation of energy efficiency projects for technical viability and identifies opportunities for emerging low carbon technologies, and actively engages in removing barriers towards the development and market adoption of new energy-efficient equipment. His experience in project management have enabled him to successfully manage the execution of pilot projects to evaluate the operation and performance of the new systems.
Behnam holds a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario and Alberta, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a Project Management Professional (PMP). He received Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Honeywell International and has been a member of CSA technical committees.
Jesper is employed in Energinet (Danish Transmission System Operator) as a Chief Systems Analyst since 2006. He works in the department of Operations Development - Gas and have a scientific background in physics and chemistry.
Jesper is an expert in gas quality and is involved in gas quality standardisation though Danish Standard. He has been the convenor of the task force on oxygen from biomethane in the European standardisation work on gas quality. Additionally, he has experience working with the subjects of gas flow metering, gas quality analysis, and the introduction of the green gasses biomethane and hydrogen into the gas infrastructure.
Jesper has been the project manager of a full-scale demonstration project about hydrogen injection into the natural gas infrastructure among Danish Energy partners.
As Head of Business Development at Anax Power, Mr. Longo coordinates the sales, marketing, and operations activities of the business on a daily basis. Mike also leads Anax's capital raising activities, which have resulted in over $4M in equity funding and almost $3M in grant funding from a variety of programs throughout North America. He has given presentations on Anax for the American Gas Assocation (AGA), Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada (PTAC), the Southern Gas Association (SGA), CERAWeek, the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and more.
Prior to Anax, Mr. Longo worked as a consultant for BTS, where he helped Fortune 500 companies execute their corporate strategies.

Sander Lueb studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht (degree Bachelor of Engineering). Sander has all-round knowledge and expertise in the field of gas installations. He has specific knowledge of pressure regulating and closing techniques in the gas grid.
He started his career in 2001 at Gastec Certification as a test engineer, working in the field of flue gas systems and several types of gas appliances. In this function his work comprised testing new products according to national and international standards.
From 2007 up to 2020 he worked as a Consultant Safety Gas installations at Kiwa Technology. In this function he was involved in investigation of gas accidents (fire, explosion, carbon monoxide) and his activities included teaching on the subject of maintenance & inspections of gas appliances. Furthermore he performed examinations on safety and functionality of existing gas installations and he prepared courses and technical documents.
From 2020 up until now he works as a Consultant Gas at Kiwa Technology and combines practical and theoretical research, mostly related to hydrogen.
Jörg Leicher, born 1973 in Essen, Germany, studied Mechanical Engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, with a focus on Energy Technologies and combustion. He received a Ph.D. in 2006 for his work on the numerical modelling of combustion processes.
From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a Post-Doc. at the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) in Lyon, France, before joining ANSYS Germany in Munich as a CFD support engineer. Since 2009, he has been working in the Department of Industrial Combustion Technology of Gas- und Wärme-Institut Essen e. V. (GWI), Germany, where he is currently in charge of the Numerical Simulations Group. GWI is an independent and non-profitHe research organization associated with the German Association for Gas and Water (DVGW).
Mr. Leicher’s professional interests include the modeling of technical combustion processes via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and chemical kinetics, the impact of natural gas quality on gas-fired applications in the industrial and residential sectors and the use of alternative fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia, biogas or syngases to decarbonize industrial manufacturing processes and power generation.
He iserves as a member of several national and international committees (e. g. in DVGW and Marcogaz) for issues of gas utilization, natural gas quality and renewable gases. Mr. Leicher is the author of numerous research articles on matters of industrial combustion processes, pollutant formation and mitigation, natural gas quality issues and the decarbonization of industrial process heat and other applications by means of the combustion of renewable fuel gases such as hydrogen, ammonia or biogases.
Ansh is a Principal Energy Systems Analyst at GTI Energy where he researches and analyzes low-carbon solutions to transition to the energy system of tomorrow. His areas of expertise include net-zero energy systems modeling, geospatial infrastructure analysis, life cycle assessment, hydrogen emissions, and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage. Ansh is passionate about energy and climate issues and has been in this space for ten years. Prior to his current role, he was an Analyst working on the energy and climate portfolio at the Energy Futures Initiative. He previously worked as a Marketing Analyst at Smart Wires Inc and as a School Bus Electrification Intern at Environmental Defense Fund.
Ansh received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, with minors in Business and Sustainable Energy, from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2018. He earned his Master of Science degree in Energy Science, Technology & Policy from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019. Dr Guillaume Raynel is a Research Science Specialist working in the Oil and Gas Treatment division of Saudi Aramco’s Research and Development Center; and is leading projects on novel demulsifier for oil-in-water emulsion and towards the reduction of acid gas emissions, especially sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide. Prior joining Saudi Aramco in 2011, he held the following positions: postdoctoral associate in Natural product syntheses at Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL-US), research associate in carbon dioxide conversion at the University of Nottingham (UK), and then as a principal scientist at C-capture ltd (Leeds, UK), where he was developing innovative amine-free absorbents for carbon dioxide capture.
Guillaume has authored and coauthored 8 peer-reviewed publications; and is the inventor of 23 granted patents in the field of oil, produced water and gas treatments for Saudi Aramco.
Guillaume received in the same year (2001) his M.Chem. in organic and organometallic chemistry at the University of Caen (France) and his M.Eng. in fine chemistry, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis at the ENSI of Caen (France). Guillaume received his Ph.D. in Medicinal chemistry from the University of Leeds, UK, in 2004.
Jiandong Wang is a senior engineer at China Petroleum Engineering Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. He has been engaged in oil well pipe and string mechanics for 20 years, published more than 20 papers, and completed 50 projects related to oil well pipes.
Dr. Zhang Yongbin obtained his doctoral degree in Mechanics (Energy and Resource Engineering) from Peking University in 2015. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research at the Stanford University Energy Transition Research Institute B (SUETRI-B), focusing on the development of a new general purpose reservoir numerical simulation software GPRS, under the guidance of professor Louis Durl of sky. In 2015, he joined the Tarim Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute of PetroChina to contribute to research on ultra-deep fractured oil and gas reservoirs. He has led or participated in multiple natural gas field development plans as well as theoretical and technical research programs. Currently, his primary areas of focus include geological modeling and numerical simulation of fractured oil and gas reservoirs, efficient tight gas development, and enhancing oil recovery through gas injection into fractured oil and gas reservoirs. Additionally, he serves as a review expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Dr. Jeremy Rochussen is a research engineer working at the Clean Energy Research Centre and Department of Mechanical engineering at the University of British Columbia. He has over 10 years experience in experimental research on natural gas combustion engines in both academic laboratory and commercial applications. He is currently managing several experimental emissions measurement campaigns evaluating alternative fuels for mitigation of air-borne pollutants and greenhouse gases emitted from heavy-duty marine, rail, and on-road applications.
Jon Rowland brings over 20 years of oil and gas industry experience to his role as Regional Sales Manager for INNIO’s Waukesha Engine, covering Canada. Jon got his start in the industry on the services side and completed his apprenticeship as a Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician in 2008. He later began and expanded his own parts and service company covering southern Alberta, which was acquired by Ironline Compression in 2018. Jon brings a unique perspective and deep knowledge to his role for both gas compression and power generation and currently serves as a liaison between local regulatory groups and the industry.

After Pieter's Master's degree in Applied Physics, where he specialized in both experimental and computational physics, he embarked on a career at DNV in November 2021, specializing in low carbon energy conversion. His journey is marked by a dedication to advancing the field of energy research, particularly focusing on (L)NG and alternative fuels including hydrogen, biogas, and ammonia.
Pieter Wolff is motivated to uncover the synergies and contradictions between fundamental theory, experimental results and computational physics to help the industry move towards environmental sustainability. For example, he contributed to the development of a methane slip model for lean gas burners, performed quality and endurance tests on energy convertors of (alternative) fuels, and was part of a team that designs low NOx burners for the hydrogen gas industry.
Bart Vogelzang is a senior strategic consultant in the innovation department of the Dutch energy grid operator Alliander. His focus is on phasing out natural gas and promoting sustainable alternatives such as biogas and hydrogen. In his daily work, he lobbies for new safety regulations in a national and international context on behalf of the association of Dutch Gas DSOs. Together with the Ministry for Economic Affairs, he has developed a framework for hydrogen pilots in the Netherlands. The first demonstration project for heating houses with pure hydrogen is in his hometown of Lochem. Bart chairs the steering committee of the Gastec Qa brand for natural gas, hydrogen, and LPG. If suppliers have this certification, the components are fit for purpose.
Based on more than 25 years of research, development, and policymaking in the natural gas sector, the emphasis in his work nowadays is on the role that hydrogen can play in the energy sector. He has overseen the procurement of assets for more than 10 years so that all materials procured nowadays are already certified for natural gas, biomethane, as well as hydrogen. He is an advisor on the sustainable gas strategy of the company. Bart is also a member of the Dutch Gas Association KVGN.
Dr. Subith Vasu is a professor at the Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER) located at University of Central Florida in Orlando, USA. . He mainly uses optical and novel laser diagnostic techniques to investigate fundamental and applied issues in mechanical, aerospace, chemical and space engineering at practical operation conditions. This strategy provides non-intrusive, time-resolved and remote detection of thermodynamic and flow properties such as species, gases, temperature, pressure, etc. Unique and world-class facilities in his lab generate crucial experimental knowledge about these systems and provide critical validation targets for computational models used by industry. Since his appointment at UCF in 2012 (after his Ph.D. from Stanford and postdoc training at Sandia), he has authored a plethora of journals (more than 110, including breakthrough publication in the prestigious journal Science and Proc. of National Academy of Sciences) and conference articles (more than 300). More than 85 of these journal publications have been co-authored with his students as lead authors. He has brought in external projects worth more than $20M. Graduates from his group hold key positions in academia, government, national labs, and aerospace industries. He is a recipient of the following prestigious early career awards: DARPA Director’s Fellowship 2020 (1 out of 13 given in the country); DARPA Young Faculty Award - YFA 2018; Microsoft Investigator Fellowship 2019 (1 out of 15 given in the country); DTRA Young Investigator (YIP) 2016; ACS Doctoral New Investigator (YIP equivalent) 2015; ASME Dilip Ballal Early Career Award 2017 (international award); and SAE Ralph R Teetor Educational Award 2018 (international). Also, he received many of the highest honors at UCF, including the prestigious “UCF Luminary” and “Reach for the Stars” awards.
Demetris Palochis is a research scientist at TNO, the Dutch Organization for Applied Scientific Research based in Delft. He got his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cyprus and then moved to the Netherlands to study his master’s in the same field at Technological University of Delft. He followed the master’s track of Energy Flow and Process Technology and gained knowledge in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer and computational fluid dynamics. After Demetris’ graduation he work at TNO as a research scientist in the Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics department, he is currently working in projects on the topic of the energy transition. He has experience in developing digital twins of energy systems, modelling multi-commodity energy networks and simulating the flow in gas networks for future scenarios.
Tjebbe Vroon works as an Energy Transition Analyst at the Innovation Department of Stedin, a Distribution System Operator (DSO) who operates the gas and electricity grid in the Netherlands for over 2.3 million private and business customers. He has experience in the development and diffusion of technological innovation systems and has contributed to the IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme as an expert member. He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Business and Innovation from Utrecht University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering & Management from the University of Applied Science of Amsterdam. At Stedin, he specializes in hydrogen, energy systems integration, flexibility and smart grids. He has led multiple innovative studies and pilots in these domains during the last three years.
Tamara Knittel is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria and a member of the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems. Her research focuses on modelling the energy system transformation in British Columbia with a focus on system flexibility in a net-zero energy system.
During her PhD, Tamara has created a demand model that projects future building end-use demands for different energy vectors with high spatial and temporal resolution. In her work, Tamara investigates the impact of technology choices and demand-side management strategies, such as space heating control, on future capacity and flexibility requirements of the electrical grid. Further, she examines how future loads can be met in a highly renewable system, considering energy storage technologies or overproduction of variable renewable energy resources, to mitigate a future mismatch in energy demand and supply.
Tamara has completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria. She also holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor's degree in International Project Engineering from the University of Reutlingen.
Stefan Gehrmann is currently Technical Manager for Energy Research in the Technology and Innovation Management Department of the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water. He works on issues related to the transformation of the energy system towards climate-neutral solutions with a focus on hydrogen. He is also actively involved in current issues related to the security of energy supply.
Prior to joining the DVGW, Stefan studied food technology at the University of Bonn and obtained a doctorate for his work in the field of biotechnology. He then worked for ten years in the research and development department of the chemical plant manufacturer thyssenkrupp Uhde.
Carla Sautchuk has a Civil Engineering master degree at Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. She has more than twenty years of experience in infrastructure systems and joined Comgas in 2014. She is now the first woman to hold the position of Director of Operations and Services in the company's 150 years.
Coordinates 570 direct employees and more than 4.000 indirect professionals. She is responsible for all asset constructions and operations that has led Comgás to expand its distribution network and reach the historic mark of 2.5 million customers.
She is also responsible for the Comgás 4.0, an asset automation project for a data driven operation, allowing Comgás to operate more efficiently.

Christine Cinnamon became Executive Director of the Canadian Energy Partnership for Environmental Innovation (CEPEI) in January of 2023. CEPEI has been in place for over 25 years and represents the downstream (transmission, distribution, and storage) natural gas sector. The focus under CEPEI is to collect data that support regulatory compliance and track emerging environmental issues to be ready to address them when they become matters of regulation or public attention.
On tracking emerging issues, CEPEI represents the downstream natural gas sector and the Canadian Gas Association on various Technical Working Groups and actively engages with the American Gas Association’s environmental committees, and previously the International Gas Union’s Methane Experts Group.
Prior to Christine’s engagement with CEPEI, she spent more than 25 years working in the natural gas industry, with a focus on energy infrastructure growth and policy development. Christine has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Guelph, and has been a Certified Environmental Professional under the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board for 20 years.
Amanda is currently Director, Zero Emissions Systems team at GTI Energy where she manages the research teams and projects that investigate decarbonization pathways including methane emissions and renewable fuels. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Veritas, a GTI Energy Methane Emissions Measurement and Verification Initiative, Renewable Fuels co-chair for Low Carbon Resource Initiative (LCRI), Methane Emissions study group member for the International Gas Union 2025 triennium, Environmental Matters Committee within American Gas Association, and program manages the Environmental Impacts Working Group for Operations Technology Development (OTD). As a research microbiologist with over 14 years of experience, she has extensive field campaigns/research laboratory experience and co-authored/publicly presented numerous research findings conducted at GTI Energy.
Shannon Katcher is GTI Energy’s Vice President of Digital Innovation. Shannon develops a strategic approach to digital transformation and directs research efforts, product and service developments, and investment initiatives in the data services and analytics space related to energy systems. She holds deep knowledge of connecting the industry’s operational experiences and needs with research programs.
Shannon graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and an M.S. in GIS & Remote Sensing. She is a licensed as a GIS Professional (GISP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Curtis Kitchen is the Technical Policy Specialist at Tourmaline Oil Corp. In this role he applies his expertise in petroleum engineering and economics to interpret and inform fiscal frameworks, climate policies and regulations that impact Tourmaline’s operations. Curtis has served on the board of the Society of Petroleum Engineer’s Vancouver section for 10 years and is on the Research, Development and Innovation Committee of the International Gas Union
Jeongwook Khang joined Korea Gas Corporation in 1997 after achieving his master degree in Industrial Engineering (Operations Research) from Graduate School of Seoul National University, Republic of Korea.
He began his research in Research Institute of Economics and Management, KOGAS and has continued to focus on natural gas supply and demand analysis, while expanding his research scopes on regional gas industries and global LNG markets, such as Korean gas industry restructuring, renewables and hydrogen, Energy Transition and Energy Security and Policy.
He achieved his Ph. D. degree in Production and Operations Management in 2012. He has published several papers on service tangibilization with organizational performance at corporate level, especially of energy utility corporations.
He also has extended his career in global cooperation as the chair of Coordination Committee of International Gas Union(IGU), from 2018 to 2022. As the chief program organizer of Korean NOC for World Gas Conference 2022(WGC2022), he was responsible for organizing whole conference program and selecting all speakers of WGC2022 Daegu event.
In 2022 he moved to the International Cooperation Group in KOGAS, with further responsibilities of cooperation with international organizations including IGU and International Energy Agency(IEA).
From February 2023, he has been in charge of Policy Research Team of the Institute, the former ESG Management Research Team.
In April 2023, he was appointed as LNG Committee chair of IGU to 2025.
He possesses excellent leadership and management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in an international team environment.
Dr. Johanna Schmidtke is Managing Partner of Rev Innovations, the investment and innovation platform of GTI Energy. With over 15 years of experience in investment management and corporate development, from early-stage venture capital to private equity funds, Johanna’s strategy and management experience spans energy and industrial sectors, including renewable and conventional energy, circular economy models, materials and chemicals, and industrial cybersecurity. Most recently, Johanna served as Senior Consultant to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office. Her previous experience also includes roles as an Investment Director at Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi Aramco, and later as Managing Director and member of the investment committee at Ara Partners, a private equity fund focused on industrial decarbonization. Johanna began her career in consulting advisory with Lux Research, later moving to Corporate Development & Strategy at First Solar. Johanna received her Doctorate in Physics from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Cambridge Scholar and her BS in Mathematics and Biochemistry from the University of Arizona.
Samantha is a chartered engineer with over three decades of energy and natural resource development. She has two degrees, Mathematics and Natural Resource Engineering. She has worked with Fortune-500 firms across North American, Europe, MENA, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Nuno Nascimento, from Lisbon, Portugal, is an accomplished professional with a background in Chemical and Industrial Engineering, complemented by a post Graduate degree in Business Management With over 25 years of dedicated service to Portugal's premier energy company, Nuno has cultivated a multifaceted expertise across various domains within the energy sector. Gregory Caldwell is a registered professional engineer, educated at the University of Alberta, specializing in Petroleum Engineering. He also holds a CPA designation.
Mr. Caldwell’s professional experience consists of engineering, business strategy and regulatory policy in the Energy Industry. His most recent experience has been focused in the areas of Business Strategy, Utility Regulation, Energy Policy, and applied Innovation delivering low carbon energy solutions.
Currently participating on national and international committees with the Canadian Gas Association and in partnership with multiple levels of government, Mr. Caldwell is focused on the funding and testing of emerging technologies aimed at combating carbon emissions, promoting greater energy security, and developing alternative pathways for Canadians to provide for their energy needs. In addition, Mr. Caldwell serves as the Canadian Chair of the International Gas Union’s (IGU) Research and Development Committee, as well as on the Energy Transition Advisory Committee, which advises the City of Edmonton on methods to implement their community energy strategy. Greg’s current focus is leading the development of a Utility Hydrogen strategy for ATCO which encompasses the technical, policy, regulatory and economic aspects of the initiative.
Greg is married with two children and enjoys playing ice hockey, scuba diving, adventure travel, and continually learning about new technologies and strategies to solve the challenges currently facing industry and society.
Frank Gröschl heads the unit "Technology and Innovation Management" at the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water, DVGW, located in Bonn/Germany. He is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the DVGW research and development programs in the fields of energy and water.
DVGW has launched a hydrogen innovation program in 2021 to promote hydrogen in all steps of the gas chain: production, infrastructure and applications. The DVGW R&D work has resulted in a number of dozen reports, technical standards and has given input to existing regulations concerning hydrogen and renewable gases. In addition, DVGW R&D is involved in various hydrogen demonstration projects.
Frank Gröschl graduated as an engineer in energy technology and has completed additional studies in economics. He has more than 30 years experience in the energy sector.
Frank Gröschl has held various management positions at DVGW since 1992. Prior to that, he worked for several years at Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in process engineering and technology.
Bronwyn is an internationally recognised business developer who converts partnerships into market leading energy transition opportunities. With over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, she has commercialised numerous innovative industry projects in Australia and within the Asian region.
She was recently a finalist in the 2022 Global Gas Awards for her work on renewable energy to renewable gas. Bronwyn has worked to create new and innovative businesses in Australia and the Asian region. She recently originated several green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Australia and has been responsible for forming consortiums involving leading Australian businesses and international energy players. She currently works as a business development executive at a leading Australian energy retailer.
Passionate about the energy transition and access to opportunities for all communities, Bronwyn is an awarded conference speaker on topics relating to energy transition within the Asian region. She regularly briefs government departments and international delegations visiting Australia to upskill on energy transition. Bronwyn has been appointed to several industry consultation committees, acts as a contributor at the Grattan Institute and a Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Asialink Foundation focusing on energy transition and the green economy.
Jean is French living in Denmark, he has a PHD in physics 1986. Jean has been working for the Danish Gas technology Center (DGC) since 1990 working mostly with R&D in relation with gas utilisation. The topics covered by his work are mainly including CH4 emissions, Hydrogen, Gas quality etc.
Recently retired from the University of Queensland, Professor and Director of Centre for Natural Gas, Prof. Garnett is one of the most well-known gas industry experts in Australia. Formerly with Shell International EP and Schlumberger Carbon Service, he has over 25 years of worldwide experience with conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal and development projects. Prior to joining The University of Queensland, Andrew consulted widely on oil and gas developments, most notably those with high greenhouse gas emissions.
He advises industry and governments, and has been a regular contributor to many government consultations and inquiries related to the gas sector and the broader energy transition. He has authored books and journal articles on everything from well integrity to CCS, from integrated policies for reducing GHG emissions to scaling up CO2 transport and storage infrastructure. Previously he was a Director on the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) Board however as of 18th September was appointed to the position of Chair of the Board.

Duncan has almost 25 years of global experience with Schlumberger. His diversified business and energy industry experience help him guide teams through complex dealings, scaling growth, cultivating strategic partnerships, and fusing disparate interests to create win-win outcomes. Duncan earned an B.Eng degree in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh in the UK. He currently lives in Houston, Tx with his wife and two active daughters. They all are competitive and passionate about sports – namely squash, snowsports, diving, golf, and outdoor activities.
Alexandra Kostereva is the Operations Manager for the European Gas Research Group (GERG), a non profit association bringing together industry and academia to collaborate on R&D for the gas and energy sector.
Since joining the GERG team in 2019, Alexandra has actively advanced all research activities of the Group, on hydrogen, biomethane, LNG, and methane emissions topics. In 2020, Alexandra expanded her knowledge of the European Energy system by completing a Blue Book internship at the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission, working on the European Methane Emissions Strategy.
In the framework of the GERG activities, Alexandra has led the proposal writing, project management, and communication strategy implementation for several European-funded projects, on a variety of topics (hydrogen, biomethane, CCUS, metrology for emerging fuels). Alexandra holds an Engineering (Master’s level) degree from the French Grande Ecole Centrale Lille, with a specialisation in Energy, and a Master’s degree in Economics of Energy from the University of Paris-Saclay.
Andy is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in gas engineering, his career to date, has spanned both a practical route, from an engineering apprentice, via academia to a senior management position in DNV. He is a successful business leader, a Senior Principal Consultant and Business Development Lead, working at DNV Research and Development.
He is a member of the senior management team at DNV Research and Development in the UK and Ireland and is involved in Business Development and Strategy Development. He is an authority in developing large project opportunities in the hydrogen and carbon capture sectors focussing on technical and safety evidence gaps for research. He has successfully developed and worked on high profile hydrogen projects for National Gas on FutureGrid, FutureGrid Phase 2, Deblending and Purification mobility projects UK, and the H21 Projects for Northern Gas Networks.
Andy thrives on strategic planning, negotiation and assisting industry stakeholders on their project developments, through his extensive internal and external networks. His strength is in proposing and developing ‘big picture’ solutions involving key stakeholders. DNV’s customers operate globally, and Andy has experience in communicating and negotiating with multinational companies providing critical holistic solutions, in challenging marketplaces.
Andy is a Fellow of the Institution Gas Engineers and Managers and held the position of president in 2017.
Previously Andy has undertaken several overseas projects in the City Gas, Due Diligence and Petroleum Regulatory Frameworks. He has also developed Gas Safety Regulatory Guidelines for a Gas Safety Regulator in the Far East and in the Middle East for Qatar Petroleum. He has worked with several clients assisting them on development of gas markets. He also chaired several conferences in Asia on City Gas project.
Dr. Norfaizah Ab Manan is a chemical engineer heading the Advanced Materials and Subsea Technology (AMST) Program in PETRONAS Group Technology & Commercialisation. She is also a Chartered Chemical Engineer of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), and a member of the International Gas Union’ R&D and Innovation committee.
A passionate process technologist, Dr Norfaizah not only works with a team of researchers and engineers on technologies for gas monetisation, CCUS as well as AMST; but she also oversees the growth and capability development of chemical engineers in the organisation.
Dr. Norfaizah obtained her Ph.D from Queen’s University of Belfast (QUB), United Kingdom (UK) in the area of thermodynamics and phase behaviour. She joined PETRONAS in 2001 upon graduating from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, and has been hands-on in several key R&D projects including development of the first process simulation software in PETRONAS, Contaminants Removal programmes, CO2 Management programme, and Advanced Materials and Subsea Technology programme.
Cécile Boesinger has been Head of Research and Innovation at Teréga for 8 years. She manages a number of projects relating to the optimisation and security of gas transport and storage infrastructures (CH4, H2, C02).
A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure in Industrial Technology Engineering, she completed her training with a PhD in Process Engineering.

Timothy M. Egan became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Gas Association in September 2010.
Prior to his appointment he was President of High Park Group (HPG), a public affairs consulting firm. He has an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Ottawa, and common and civil law degrees from McGill University. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1995.
Mr. Egan is publisher of the Energy Regulation Quarterly, and editor of the magazine Energy. He also serves as Canada’s representative on the International Gas Union (IGU), sitting on the Executive Committee and serving as North American Regional Coordinator.
He is married to Patricia (nee Armstrong) and they have five daughters.
Ms. Li Yalan has over thirty years of experience in the gas industry. She is a well-known expert in the gas industry in China.
Ms. Li is the current IGU President and a former Chairperson of the Board of Beijing Gas Group and the former vice Chairperson of China Gas Association. She is listed as one of 40 Energy Leaders in the 40 Years Reform and Opening Up, as a representative of the Chinese energy industry.
Li Yalan holds a bachelor’s degree of Engineering from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, majored in Thermal Engineering, and she holds an MBA degree from Renmin University of China. She started her career working in the Public Utilities Bureau of Beijing Municipal Government and then Beijing Gas Group. Since 2001, she has worked as Chief Engineer, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Company. She was appointed as Chairperson of the Board of Beijing Gas Group in 2014. She served as chairperson of Beijing Gas Group for nine years and was vice Chairperson of China Gas Association for an extended period of time.
Ms. Li has extensive experience working in the gas industry. She is a renowned expert in the Chinese gas industry and has contributed to the rapid development of the gas industry development in Beijing, with annual gas consumption volume increasing from 180 mcm to 18 bcm over the past two decades. She has organized the study and implementation of the natural gas development plan for Beijing; carried out a large number of coal-to-gas conversion projects; headed the compilation of Natural Gas Development Plan of Beijing from the 9th Five-Year Plan period to the 13th Five-Year Plan period and the Development Strategy Study of Beijing Gas Group; completed several town gas acquisition projects; and successfully led LNG procurement among other strategic cooperation of the group company. The company acquired equity from a major gas field overseas and achieved both economic progress and strategy synergy for the company.
In the field of technology and innovation, Ms. Li is the first person to win the Zhan Tianyou award, the most important award in the national civil engineering industry. Under her leadership, Beijing Gas has become the first high-tech company in the gas industry in China.
Ms. Li serves as the IGU President for 2022-2025 triennium and will become the immediate past President of IGU for 2025-2028.

Dr. Paula Gant is President and CEO of GTI Energy, a technology development organization focused on designing and scaling low-carbon, low-cost energy transition solutions. Dr. Gant has a passion for building collaborative teams, aligning innovation with impact, and convening diverse stakeholders to pursue solutions to consequential energy system challenges.
Previously, she served as GTI Energy’s Vice President of Strategy & Innovation, where she advanced solutions that enable safe, efficient, clean, reliable, and affordable energy systems. In previous private and public sector roles, Dr. Gant focused on the intersection of global trends in technology, markets, and policy, and the solutions needed to transition energy systems.
As Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oil & Natural Gas for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), she led regulatory and R&D programs to deploy science, analysis, and technologies that leveraged the prudent production, environmental stewardship, and efficient use of America’s natural gas resources. As Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, Dr. Gant oversaw DOE’s efforts to enhance U.S. energy security and accelerate global adoption of clean energy technologies with key international governments.
She has also held leadership roles for the American Gas Association and Duke Energy Corporation.
Dr. Gant has a BA in economics from McNeese State University in Louisiana and a PhD in economics from Auburn University in Alabama. He started his career at Eni E&P and thereafter he actively promoted the liberalization process, leading UGS regulatory and business development.
He was one of the founders of Gas Storage Europe and has served several years as GIE Board member.
Since 2010, he moved to Snam where he has been leading infrastructure development and international M&A activities. Among these, he had a primary role in fostering the Southern Gas Corridor development.
When heading Snam Strategy, he was the initial promoter of the Gas for Climate 2050 initiative and launched the CNG/SSLNG and biomethane activities.
He then led the Snam Global Solutions business unit, founded to support gas markets development and optimization worldwide and, in specific, the set-up of Snam cooperation in China.
He is currently a Senior Advisor to Snam and is serving as International Gas Union Vice President and incoming 2025-2028 President.
Menelaos (Mel) Ydreos is the Secretary General of the International Gas Union (IGU). The IGU’s mission is to advocate for natural gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system and promote the gas industry's political, technical, and economic progress.
Mr. Ydreos most recently served as the Executive Director of LNG2023, the global LNG conference staged in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in July 2023. He also served as the Executive Director of Public Affairs and Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the International Gas Union for its 2015-2018 US Presidency triennium. He supported the staging of the 2018 World Gas Conference in Washington, DC.
Mr. Ydreos also serves as the Executive Director of Energy Vantage Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He launched Energy Vantage Inc. after a long career at Union Gas Ltd-A Spectra Energy Company, where he held several executive positions. He served as interim president and CEO of the Ontario Energy Association from 2013 to 2014. Under the IGU's Malaysian Presidency, he chaired the special geopolitics and natural gas task force. He was also the Interim President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association in 2009.
He has served on the Advisory Committee of the Waterloo Institute of Sustainable Energy. He has served on the Boards of Pollution Probe and the Canadian Standards Association. Mr. Ydreos also volunteered his services to charitable organizations, including the United Way.
Mr. Ydreos earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Emeka C. Ene is the CEO of the Oildata Energy Group, which includes Oildata Energy, Xenergi, Xenoil, the Enpower Free Trade Zone, and other companies. Emeka is a member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, the current Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council Board of Trustees (BOT), the Chairman (E&P Committee) of the International Gas Union (IGU) for the 2022 – 2025 triennium, and a member of the board of other companies in the Oil and Gas industry. Emeka has also served in various capacities on a voluntary basis. He was the Vice Chairman (E&P Committee) of the International Gas Union (IGU) for the 2019 – 2022 triennium, a past director on the board of the World Free Zones Organization (WorldFZO), the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) for four years, a past Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council, Chairman of SPE Port Harcourt section 103 and was a member of the Presidential Task Force on Refineries reform. As part of Emeka’s contribution to the body of technical knowledge and best practices in the Oil Industry, he has published several technical papers in the areas of trade and entrepreneurship, Local content, Rigless Well Intervention, Reservoir Monitoring and Well Conformance Technology. Emeka pioneered the MIND AFRICA Foundation (www.mindafrica.org), a non-profit initiative working with rural children ages 10 to 15 years in the Niger Delta. MIND is involved in developing leadership and life-long learning, computer based education and hands-on skills. He is married to Nkechi Ene and they have three lovely children.
Prof. Brenda Shaffer is an international energy and foreign policy specialist, focusing on natural gas trade and foreign policy, Caspian energy, energy security policies, European energy security, critical energy infrastructure protection policy, and Eastern Mediterranean energy. She is a faculty member at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Prof. Shaffer is also Senior Advisor for Energy at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) think tank and a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center in Washington, DC. Brenda recently published the book-- Iran is more than Persia: Ethnic Politics in Iran. She is co-author of the forthcoming book, Operational Energy, which will be used in courses on energy in the US Department of Defense.
Prof. Shaffer is the author of several other books: Energy Politics (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2009), Borders and Brethren: Iran and the Challenge of Azerbaijani Identity (MIT Press, 2002), Partners in Need: The Strategic Relationship of Russia and Iran (Washington Institute for Near East Policy, 2001). Energy Politics is used as a textbook in over 200 university courses around the globe. She has also served as the editor of Beyond the Resource Curse (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2012) and Limits of Culture: Islam and Foreign Policy (MIT Press, 2006).
Prof. Shaffer frequently provides research and expert counsel to international institutions, governments, energy companies, financial institutions, and regional security organizations. Shaffer has served as an advisor to Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Energy on policy related to the major natural gas discoveries in Israel. She has advised several companies involved in Caspian energy production and export. She has given testimony to several committees of the US Congress, including the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and to the European Parliament. Chris completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at MIT and graduate work in Electrical Engineering at both UC Berkeley and MIT. Pinnacle created the hydraulic fracture mapping industry and its innovations helped launch commercial shale gas production in the late 1990s. Chris was Chairman of Stroud Energy, an early shale gas producer, before its sale to Range Resources in 2006. John Adams serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NGIF Capital, which is the venture capital division of NGIF. NGIF Capital manages Cleantech Ventures Fund I, an industry-driven $55 million venture capital fund focusing on early-stage investments in emerging startups. John is the Managing Partner of this fund. NGIF Capital will also manage all forthcoming venture funds.
John is also the President and CEO of NGIF Accelerator, the not-for-profit division of NGIF that operates NGIF’s technology and innovation programs, including Industry Grants and the Emissions Testing Centre.

Crystal Smith has served the Haisla people for 12 years through her work with Haisla Nation Council, starting as Executive Assistant to the Chief and Council from 2009 to 2013, then being elected Chief Councillor in 2017.
She holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Coast Mountain College and a Business Skills Certificate from Thompson Rivers University.
In November 2019, she was named Chair of the First Nations LNG Alliance, a group committed to encouraging First Nations development of the LNG industry to provide employment and other sustainable benefits for BC’s aboriginal people.
She advocates for Haisla Nation-owned joint venture partnerships which allow for participation in major projects in Haisla territory. Using those opportunities provides a doorway for members to find rewarding work and educational opportunities to enhance their skills and improve social conditions in Haisla communities.
Ultimately, she wants the work done today by her and all of the Council to benefit today’s 1700 Haisla people but future generations as well.
John is Nehinaw (Cree)-Metis from Kaministikominahikoskak (Cumberland House), Saskatchewan. John has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and started his career in 2001 in the mining industry and worked in a variety of roles including E&S, maintenance and reliability engineering management until moving onto executive leadership in economic development and construction. John now serves as the Executive Director of the Indigenous Resource Network as well as Past President of APEGS. John also has extensive regulatory, volunteer, governance, and civil society experience serving on a variety of boards, committees, and other initiatives culminating into several awards over his career recognizing his civil service and servant leadership.
Bernadine Coleman was elected to O’Chiese First Nation Council in 2021. Bernadine’s background is of Anishnaabe heritage and she speaks her traditional language, Saulteaux.
Bernadine achieved her Bachelor of Arts, with a Major in Criminal Justice. Prior to being on the O’Chiese Council, she was the O’Chiese Economic Development Officer. Bernadine transfers her acquired skills, abilities and knowledge to advance her communities’ goals of long-term sustainability.

Ms. Joseph spent close to 10 years in progressively senior roles at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, including as Senior Manager of Research and Development with its Green Municipal Fund and as the founding Director of the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program, a $75 million capacity building and granting program focused on climate change mitigation and adaption at the community level. Most recently, Ms. Joseph served as Vice-President, Government Relations and Indigenous Affairs for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). She led work related to federal policies affecting Canada’s upstream oil and natural gas industry. An important part of this work involved building relationships with Indigenous organizations in support of ongoing economic reconciliation in Canada.
A member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, Ms. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McGill University and Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. Ms. Joseph has served on the Boards of Directors of the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers Network (now Environmental Funders Canada) and the Energy Council of Canada and was a member of the Advisory Council for the University of Ottawa’s Positive Energy initiative.
Mr. Buffalo is a proud member of the Samson Cree Nation. He graduated secondary school from Athol Murray College at Notre Dame, Saskatchewan. Mr. Buffalo holds a B.A. from Medicine Hat College and B.Mgt from University of Lethbridge. He worked for Peace Hills Trust for 15 years, most recently as the Regional Manager for Southern Alberta. Recently completed the Institute of Corporate Directors designation. ICD.D, the first Indigenous cohort.

Damjan KRNJEVIĆ MIŠKOVIĆ is a veteran Serbian and UN diplomat who has served as a senior political strategist, adviser, and crisis counselor, gaining more than a decade’s worth of executive-level policymaking experience before reaching 40 years of age.
Since 2020, Mr. Krnjević has resided in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he is Professor of Practice at ADA University; Director for Policy Research, Analysis, and Publications at the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (the university’s in-house think-tank); and Co-Editor of ADA’s flagship English-language quarterly policy journal Baku Dialogues. Concurrently, he is a Fellow at the Germany-based Agora Strategy Institute and serves as a Member of the Board of Editors of Orbis, published by the U.S.-based Foreign Policy Research Institute. Eng. AbuBakr serves as the Chairman of the Egyptian Gas Association since 2012. He has been active within the IGU organization for the last 20 years and became a visible global voice for gas industry from the region. He served four times in the IGU Executive Committee for the 2012/2015, 2015/2018, 2018/2021 and 2022/2025 trienniums. He was appointed as IGU Regional Coordinator for Africa & Middle East in the same trienniums. Eng. AbuBakr represented and advocated for the IGU globally and participated in IGU’s technical committees and task forces, having attended 8 WGCs starting from 1997 and was a speaker at WGC 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015.

She served as Vice President of Promotion and Allocation of Areas of the National Hydrocarbons Agency, where she promoted foreign investment in the country, with a particular focus on the development of offshore hydrocarbon exploration and production. She was also Exploration Manager of the same entity.
She worked in Ecopetrol for eight years as a tax advisor for the entire value chain of the business. She participated in the entire process of determining the value of the share for the stock going into the market, as well as in the internationalization process of the company.
She was Executive Director of her legal consulting firm with emphasis on environmental, social and business aspects for the development of projects in the mining and energy sector.
She is currently President of Naturgas, an association that brings together the 29 main natural gas producing, transporting, distributing and marketing companies in Colombia.
Khairulanwar Zakaria joined the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) as the Secretary General in September 2023. MGA is the nation’s lead advocate for the natural gas industry, playing a prominent role in promoting engagement, discourse and dialogue with key stakeholders to develop a vibrant and sustainable gas industry, fuel Malaysia's socio-economic growth and ensure pragmatic energy transition towards a low carbon economy.
Prior to joining MGA, Khairulanwar Zakaria (KZ) served PETRONAS for 32 years since 1991 upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree from City University, London, United Kingdom. With a career spanning over three decades in the oil and gas industry, KZ has worked internationally and accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in gas related activities and business. In the early to mid-nineties, he was involved in supporting the development of the integrated petroleum complexes in Kerteh and Gebeng which entailed the development of Gas Processing Plants, various petrochemical plants as well as the supporting infrastructures and facilities.
He worked at the company’s Corporate Planning Division in 1997 and was involved in the development of strategic business plans, performance monitoring and resolving corporate issues. In 1999, he was seconded to the Malaysian Prime Minister Department’s Economic Planning Unit (EPU) as PETRONAS representative; his key roles during the three-year stint at EPU were assisting the Government in formulating and executing energy-related policies, managing and handling Parliamentary questions as well as representing PETRONAS during selected Government meetings.
In 2002, he pursued a one-year Executive Master of Business Administration Program (MBA Energy) under PETRONAS’ Scholarship in HEC Montreal, Canada. Upon completing his MBA in 2003, he was involved in the company wide Corporate Strategy Study/Integrated Transition Program (CSS/ITP). His main role was formulating and executing PETRONAS’ expansion strategy in gas related activities.
He undertook the business development role for Gas Business in 2004 and was involved in numerous commercial activities. He was handpicked to join the IGU Gas Market Integration Working Group and was a speaker at the World Gas Conference 2009 (Buenos Aires).
In 2009, he was promoted to the position of General Manager, Business Development. Among notable achievements during his tenure as the Head of Business Development were concluding Gas Sales Agreements (GSAs) in Singapore, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, formulating Gas assets in Canada.
He assumed the position of General Manager of Fleet Management in 2012. His main roles were managing the operation of 23 LNG ships serving PETRONAS Group of companies’ requirements, overseeing the safety aspect of LNG cargo delivery operation, providing advice on technical and marine operation (related to LNG ships) as well as determining the LNG shipping capacity requirement for PETRONAS Group of companies. In 2013, he was involved in the conclusion of Ship Building Contract for 4 new LNG ships.
He was appointed as the Head of LNG Marketing Korea, China and Taiwan in May 2015. His areas of responsibilities involve all types of LNG sales (spot and term); where he concluded numerous LNG supply deals (more than 8 mtpa), contract repackaging and price review exercises in those countries. He led a few “breakthrough” initiatives in LNG contracts and operations such as China Truck Market Price Index, AECO Index, Ship To Ship (STS) LNG transfer, LNG ISO Tanks deliveries and multiple discharge port deliveries (China).

Camilo Morales is an international business administrator from Universidad de la Sabana and a specialist in Mining and Energy Law and Sustainable Development from Universidad de los Andes. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Energy Policy at the University of Sussex, UK. Camilo has 9 years of experience in public, commercial and international affairs in the energy, oil and gas sector. He served as Energy, Oil and Gas Officer at the British Embassy in Colombia, where he designed and executed the UK's political and commercial positioning strategy on energy issues.
Subsequently, he oversaw the international management of the Colombian National Hydrocarbons Agency and the strategic promotion of the areas available for exploration and production. Additionally, he served as advisor to the Mayor's Office of Barranquilla, leading Barranquilla to become the first energy capital of Colombia.
He is currently General Secretary of Naturgas, from where he contributes to consolidate natural gas as an energy source for the transition, the country's competitiveness and the quality of life of Colombians.
Estha Nulty completed her Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) majoring in Mechanical at Griffith University Gold Coast Australia. She is currently employed by GPA Engineering, a multidisciplinary engineering and management firm based in Brisbane. The projects Estha is involved in are predominantly in the Oil & Gas and Hydrogen sectors. In her early stages of her engineering career, she brings a fresh perspective to the energy industry - with her prior background being in optical dispensing and hospitality. Estha is a member of the Australian Gas Institute Trust (AGIT) and has recently been involved in the AGIT Gas Speak colloquium. With a passion for nature, Estha is eager to play a positive part in the ever-changing energy balance.
Xi WANG was born in January 1985. She graduated from the University of Birmingham (UK)with an MSc. in International Accounting and Finance.
As a senior Engineer, she serves in the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, CNPC and is currently a member of the IGU Strategy Committee. She has engaged in research on oil and gas market and strategy of oil companies since 2009. She also focus energy transition for oil companies in recent 3 years and is one of the principal authors of the book 'Pathways to Carbon Neutrality for international oil companies'.

Chief William (Billy) Morin Nahtokitopi Sacred Rider was elected in 2015 as the youngest Chief in Enoch Cree Nation’s modern history; he served three consecutive terms.
Chief Morin has been a strong advocate for working together in all sectors with Canadians, as was the original spirit and intent of Treaty Six. This has led to many successes in business for Enoch totaling nearly $ 1 billion in investments during his time as Chief, inclusive of commercial development, carbon capture, gas power projects, and unprecedented community infrastructure investment that also helped end a long-term drinking water advisory. His leadership in bridge building resulted in his appointment as Grand Chief of the 17 First Nations of the Confederacy of Treaty Six in 2020.
During this time, Chief Morin co-led the first Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corp. project, a $93 million transaction to secure equity ownership in the Cascade Power Project for Enoch and five other First Nations. Currently, Chief Morin serves as Managing Director at Axxcelus Capital Advisory, Canada’s leading firm dedicated solely to championing indigenous equity ownership in resource projects.
Amir Foster worked as a Senior Energy Analyst in Israel's financial market. In 2012 he established the "Foster Consultancy Group" which focuses on the energy sector in general and natural gas in particular. Among the company's clients were gas companies, government ministries, and various organizations from Israel and abroad. In 2016 Mr. Foster was appointed as the Head of Strategy and Research at the Israeli Natural Gas Trade Association, and since 2019 he has acted as the Executive Director.
Since August 2022, Amir has been the chairman of the Strategy Committee in the International Gas Union (IGU).
Amir holds an MSc in Finance from Tel Aviv University.
During more than 20 years spent in the oil and gas industry Mr. Laszlo Fritsch has gained extensive professional knowledge from various fields of the energy sector. He started his career at Shell Gas Hungary where his professional expertise has been broadened in various positions held in several European countries. Later he joined E.ON Gas Storage as CFO and from 2013 to 2020 he held the position of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Hungarian Gas Storage. In order to gain in-depth knowledge also in the technical operation Mr. Fritsch has successfully completed a reservoir engineering course in Houston. Since 2020 he is appointed CEO of MVM CEEnergy (formerly Hungarian Gas Trade). With his extensive knowledge of the energy and natural gas industry, Mr. Fritsch actively contributes to the domestic and international development of the sector as the chairman of the Hydrocarbon Mining Section of the Hungarian Mining Association and a member of the International Gas Union (IGU).
Recently retired from the University of Queensland, Professor and Director of Centre for Natural Gas, Prof. Garnett is one of the most well-known gas industry experts in Australia. Formerly with Shell International EP and Schlumberger Carbon Service, he has over 25 years of worldwide experience with conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal and development projects. Prior to joining The University of Queensland, Andrew consulted widely on oil and gas developments, most notably those with high greenhouse gas emissions.
He advises industry and governments, and has been a regular contributor to many government consultations and inquiries related to the gas sector and the broader energy transition. He has authored books and journal articles on everything from well integrity to CCS, from integrated policies for reducing GHG emissions to scaling up CO2 transport and storage infrastructure. Previously he was a Director on the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) Board however as of 18th September was appointed to the position of Chair of the Board.
A lawyer from the University of Valparaiso in Chile, with an MBA from the Adolfo Ibanez University Business School in Chile and a LLM in Natural Resources, Law and Policy from the University of Dundee in Scotland. He has also completed the PADE Senior Management Program at the Universidad de Los Andes in Chile.
He is currently the Executive Chairman of the Chilean Natural Gas Association (AGN), a trade organization that has grown significantly over the years and now represents the main players of the local natural gas industry (importers, LNG terminals, pipelines, traders, distributors, and major customers). In this role, he actively participates in the development of the regulatory framework for the gas sector in Chile; and works with a range of organizations, including government and regulatory authorities, trade associations, technical committees, and the media to promote the use of gas and seek opportunities for it to continue serving as a clean energy source in the energy transition. In addition, he was a member of the consulting committee which created and updated the Chilean Energy Policy (in 2016 and 2021).
Cortés-Simon has led the involvement of AGN in the International Gas Union (IGU), the largest and most influential natural gas organization worldwide, and has represented the Chilean Gas Industry at many international events around the world since 2014. From 2021 onwards, he has been the IGU Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Heather Exner-Pirot is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Natural Resources, Energy and Environment program at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and a Special Adviser to the Business Council of Canada. She is a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center in Washington DC, the Research Advisor for the Indigenous Resource Network and the Managing Editor of the Arctic Yearbook. Exner-Pirot is also a Coordinator at the North American and Arctic Defense and Security Network and sits on the Boards of the Saskatchewan Indigenous Economic Development Network and Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation. Dr. Exner-Pirot obtained a PhD in Political Science from the University of Calgary in 2011.
Michele is responsible for the overall leadership and operations of Ontario-based Enbridge Gas Inc., as well as Gazifère, which serves the Gatineau region of Quebec. Prior to assuming her current role, Michele was the Chief Operations Officer for Enbridge’s Gas Transmission & Midstream (GTM) business
unit, based in Houston, Texas. She is a principled safety leader and has been integral to Enbridge’s safety performance journey in her time with the company.
Michele has more than 25 years of experience in the energy value creation chain including the upstream, midstream, downstream, retail and oil and gas services sectors. Before joining Enbridge in 2014, Michele worked for Shell for 16 years in roles of increasing responsibility, including General Manager of Shell’s Sarnia Manufacturing Centre in Ontario.
Michele has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and a law degree from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
She has successfully combined her engineering, legal and business background to become a strategic leader with a demonstrated track record in successful business and operational transformations. In 2020, she was recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil & Gas by the National Diversity Council (US).

Energy and mining engineering management specialist, he has been devoted to the research and development of oil production engineering technology and equipment, innovation and practice of Engineering Management for more than 40 years.
William Jordan was appointed Executive Vice President and General Counsel in July 2019. Will served as an advisor to the Rice Investment Group from May 2018 until July 2019. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Rice Energy and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Rice Midstream Partners LP. From September 2005 through December 2013,Will practiced corporate law at Vinson & Elkins LLP representing public and private companies in capital markets offerings and mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the oil and natural gas industry. He is a graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and earned a Juris Doctorate from the Duke University School of Law.
